One of my top 10 dystopic movies is Johnny Mnemonic. A 1995 cyberpunk action thriller where Johnny, a data courier (literally carrying a data package inside his head) must deliver the payload before he dies from the burden or is killed by the Yakuza. Although the film has not aged as well as I would have liked, you still can’t deny that a cast with Dolph Lundgren, Henry Rollins and Keanu Reeves is something to behold!
The first time I saw the movie, I distinctly remember the Church of Transfiguration – its glowing television cross left an indelible mental picture I’ve never forgotten, as well, as I am familiar with the church’s location in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The full-size Church would have been too large to fit on the layout at 300mm in length, so I selectively compressed the church’s to occupy a much smaller footprint. I’ve yet to decide on its final location as I am forever moving structures, buildings, and landmarks while coming up with bigger, more complicated design plans.
This was a fairly challenging scratch build and I don’t think I’ll be building any more religious buildings anytime soon. 🙂 Thanks for watching!
