The Gate is a fortified checkpoint securing the border between two neighbourhoods. The Gate was government-run; its operations corrupt and heavily bureaucratic. Thus I included large exhaust vents to expel bloviating hot air. Likewise, the structure is over-engineered in support of a single pathetic toll booth. The design was kitbashed using parts from an Outland Models Modern City Building Curved Top Shopping Centre combined with plain sheet styrene. The vent pipes were constructed using styrene tubes, and the toll booth was assembled by laminating structural panels and window mullions to a sheet of acetate before separating the individual wall panels.
The structure is ridiculous, imposing, and adds the right amount of visual weight to the layout.
